Sciennes Orienteering Success!

Thank you very much to Sam’s mum Su who organised partcipation and sent this report. Fabulous achievement!
Friday 1st June was the Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival, this year held in Pollock Country Park in Glasgow. Schools from all over Scotland participate. The festival is for children from P5 to S6 and this year Sciennes had 9 pupils in the team, Bethan Kitchen (P5), Ben Ross, Reuben Murdoch and Eddie Melvin (P5), Aditi Gour (P6), Sam Bartlett, Isaac Murdoch, Sam Kitchen and Thomas Ross (P7).
Runners run individually, but if schools have 3 people in an age group, then times can be added up to be eligible for the team event.
We had fantastic runs from everyone. In the individual category, Sam Bartlett achieved 3rd place, whilst the P5 boys team came 10th, and the P7 boys came 3rd. Overall, out of 34 primary schools attending, Sciennes achieved 3rd place.
Well done to all!
