Dear Families
We thank you for your support for our continued use of Microsoft Teams in P1-7 and SeeSaw in P1-3. All tasks/resources required for the day ahead will continue to be posted before 9am with weekly overviews for the week ahead emailed to families by Friday evening.
Thank you also to everyone who has responded to our remote learning surveys. We will review the responses and seek to take account of views from across the community – parents, pupils and staff – to keep improving our provision.
Week beginning 1 February is Children’s Mental Health Week. The theme this year is ‘Express Yourself’, encouraging children to express their feelings and ideas creatively through for example art, photography, music, poetry, dance or drama. What creative outlet makes you feel good? We invite pupils to ‘Dress to Express’ yourself on Friday, wearing something that reflects their creativity and pastimes. At Assembly we will showcase some of the children’s work from this week. Email, add to Teams/SeeSaw or Tweet us @sciennesps with photos of your child being creative! Ms Anstruther has put together a Sway presentation which will be used at each stage P1-P7 (see link in email).
As usual, the online booking form to borrow an iPad re-opens on Friday morning and will close again on Tuesday at 5pm, should there be any additional requests (see email link). The form now includes an option to book an iPad surgery slot if you require some assistance with a borrowed iPad.
I hope your children enjoyed watching our Scots and Burns Assembly on Friday and that our Shang-A-Lang video raised a smile. Please find below a link to the Assembly and a separate link to the story “Tabby McTat” by Julia Donaldson.
Any decisions on schools re-opening are made by the Scottish Government and then Local Authorities. Currently Lockdown will be in place until at least mid-February with a further announcement expected from First Minister on Tuesday 2 February.
I hope you had a lovely weekend. I managed to pull something in my back that resulted in a quiet and slightly painful weekend! Easing up now.
Andrew
