The first of five running competitions kicked off at a rain-soaked Meadows last night. The damp conditions, however, did not deter the young people from Sciennes, James Gillespie’s and Preston Street Primary schools.
55 pupils from Sciennes Primary school took part in a race over 2 kilometres which followed the junior Parkrun route, with some choosing to enjoy the 1 kilometre fun run.
All young people showed great determination and perseverance to complete the route with many Sciennes pupils recording top 10 finishes. Special mentions should go to Finlay Glass and Stella Crawford who won their respective races in style.
Thank you to all parents and carers who came down to offer their support and also to Simon MacLean of Preston Street for organising the course. Thanks also to Mr Hutchison and Mr Mitchell.
