P7 Captains can apply for the post in August each year. The Houses are led by a boy and girl House Captain and a boy and girl Sports Captain, making sixteen P7 Captains in total.

At Sciennes, we operate a House system. Pupils will be allocated to either Grange, Lauder, Sienna or Tantallon in Primary Two. We try wherever possible to keep siblings in the same House. All Staff are also allocated a House.

Pupils can earn House Points for showing good manners, special achievements and effort. Weekly totals are announced at Assembly each week and the winning House receives a reward at the end of each term. Points are also awarded on Sports Day and this year our Primary Sevens suggested including Points for a House Quiz, which they are organising and running in the upper school. The overall winning House is awarded the Sciennes Cup and a special ‘Fun and Frolics’ celebratory session at the Meadows in the last week of school. T-shirts can be purchased in House colours if families wish, but there is no obligation to do so.
