Congratulations to our magnificent P7 athletes who each gained a Silver medal for second place at the Sportshall Athletics Primary Finals at Meadowbank on Monday 14th January. Thank you to Mr Wallace, Miss Gaffney and Scot Noble for accompanying and to Mrs Walker for preparing them and for co-ordinating the event. Thank you to the parents who came along to lend their encouragement, too. We were all delighted not just with P7’s fantastic success but also with their impeccable behaviour and sporting attitudes, applauding all who took part. Great banner too, P7!
All pupils have now qualified for the East Scotland Finals which will again be held at Meadowbank on Tuesday 19th February and spectators are welcome.
Below is a message from Mrs Walker:

Well done to our wonderful P7 athletes who were placed a respectable fifth out of ten schools competing in the East Scotland Sportshall Athletics Finals which were held at Meadowbank on Tuesday 19th February. Thank you to Mr Wallace and Miss Gaffney for accompanying and to Mrs Walker for preparing them and for co-ordinating the event. Thank you to the parents who came along to lend their encouragement, too. We were again delighted with P7’s impeccable behaviour and sporting attitudes. It is the first time that Sciennes has reached the final and we commend the pupils for their sterling endeavours in all three stages of the competition. Congratulations to the deserving winning team from Bonaly Primary, the only other Edinburgh school who took part.
