Small Steps Pupils Step up to the Podium

On Wednesday 30th April schools who took part in a pilot of the Small Steps campaign were invited to City Chambers to receive an official thank you for the work they have done on saving energy.

Pupils from Sciennes’ Eco Team joined five other schools to tell guests at the event how they encouraged pupils and staff to save energy. Andy Gray, Head of Schools and Community Service, presented them with certificates to thank them for their efforts.

The campaign complements the Eco Schools international initiative designed to encourage whole-school action on sustainable development education issues.

The schools that took part in the pilot were

  • Sciennes
  • Liberton Primary
  • Gilmerton Primary
  • Prestonfield Primary
  • Liberton High
  • St Thomas of Aquins’.
