Huge congratulations to P5-P7 pupils who won the Primary Schools Shield as well as First, Third and Top Ten places at the Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival on Friday 7th June! Many thanks to families for supporting participation.
“We had a very enjoyable and successful day at Hopetoun House on Friday for the Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival. Even the weather was kind to us so Hopetoun House made a glorious setting and the beautiful lawns were perfect for a vigorous game of football after the orienteering. All 14 runners (Ayush, Ben, Reuben, Andrew, Pablo, Eddie, Max, Catie, Bethan, Qingyang, Fraser, Murray, Matthew and Aditi) navigated successfully round their courses.
We had some excellent results, including winning the overall Primary School shield! The overall results are attached which show that 10 out of the 14 Sciennes runners achieved a time within twice the winning time. A really great achievement given that many in the team had only done a little orienteering before.
Top 10 individual results were:
P5/6 Girls
7th Bethan
P5/6 Boys
1st Ben
4th Andrew
Team results:
P5/6 girls
3rd place Sciennes – Bethan, Catie and Qingyang
P5/6 boys
1st place Sciennes – Ben, Andrew and Eddie
Many thanks for supporting a school entry to this event. Thanks to all the parents who supported the children, Natalie Homer, Kate Kitchin, Doug Lyons, Rosa and myself.”
