Thank you for your support!

We are really looking forward to a Christmas holiday and are sure you are all too! It’s been quite a year. Despite the challenges we have faced this year, we are delighted with the community spirit in the school and the community at large. It’s been a pleasure to be part of that and to help where we can.

It’s a tribute to you as a parent body that we have, during a pandemic, managed to hit our technology goal for the year and already provided our P7 and P6 students with the technology that the school requested, which was installed this week to great excitement among the students.

In addition to this, the fundraising group have organised two massively successful, COVID-conscious events – the Halloween and Christmas trails which provided much-needed fun and community spirit and, in doing so, have managed to raise an incredible £5,900 of additional funds for the school. Huge thanks to them and to you, as parents and supporters of the school, for all of your efforts – it is hugely appreciated!

There’s lots more we have planned to support the school in the new year and it would be great to see faces old and new at our first meeting of the year on 27th January. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year and look forward to getting even more achieved in 2021 together as a community.

Sciennes EFG Fundraising Winter Trail
What a wonderful turn out for our fundraising Winter Trail!
We’d like to thank you all for joining us and for supporting our fundraising efforts. We had absolutely superb host houses who went to town on their ideas and provided loads of entertainment for trail goers. Whole streets came together to make sure that a magical experience was had by all. Our urban orienteering trail was a big hit, although tiring for little legs. Well done to everyone who managed the route and put their detective skills to good use. Our wonderful Primary 7 pupils really did us proud with their enterprises and came up with amazing products and games for the stalls. The real testament to them is the fact that they sold out!

We have had great feedback so far. A common theme running through the feedback received is the great sense of community spirit that emerged during the afternoon. We’ve had neighbours on the routes come forward to thank us for an enjoyable afternoon. Many of the residents who fedback won’t be able to see their families this festive season and so enjoyed watching the children have fun.

We would like to thank everyone who made the day so special and a delightful distraction to the current situation. Much deserved praise and thanks goes to Susan Dunlop and her family who went above and beyond in their efforts to pull off a magnificent event. The support of our Parent Council co-chairs is highly appreciated and made the event possible.
Thanks to your support and combined with the Sciennes branded merchandise sale we have managed to raise a whopping £5,900!
We will be in touch with photos from the event as well as the orienteering clue answers and QR codes.
